How NOT to stretch:

  • Do not bounce. Stretching should be gradual and relaxed.
  • Do not stretch the muscle until you feel pain.
  • Do not force the stretch. If the stretch is excessive you can get a contracture.
  • Do not hold your breath during the stretch.
